Igmaan at Hotel Del Rio : Sooo Pinoy Food Trip na Pilipinas!

After having Ilongo breakfast hosted by Freska Restaurant, we headed back to the hotel to freshen up and prepare for another food trip at Igmaan. Igmaan, or “eating place” is perfectly located on the bank of Batiano River or commonly known as Iloilo River.

With a a nice alfresco setting, the restaurant serves authentic home-style Ilonggo dishes. One of the two restaurants inside Hotel del Rio, Igmaan is one of the favorite restaurant by foreign tourists being one of the most recommended restaurants serving good food and excelent customer service.

They served their best selling Bangus Sisig paired with their fragrant steamed rice that is similar to my favorite japanese rice. I really like their version of Bangus Sisig coz Im a huge fan of spicy food. Made with Bangus Belly, their sisig is perfectly mixed with onions, ginger, red hot chili peppers and just right amount of mayonase.

They also introduced one of their specialty drink called Malunggay Citrus. The iced cold beverage doenst taste Malungay at all, If it was not introduced as Malungay Juice, I would think that it was just a refreshing Kalamansi drink mixed with sparkling soda.

I  just ate half rice even though I love their super spicy bangus sisig… Why? Coz we still have three (3) more restaurants to visit for the day. In the next couple of days, I will be featuring several restaurants here in Iloilo as part of our Sooo Pinoy Food Trip na Pilipinas Tour.

The goal of the Food Trip is to show that Filipino dishes per region have different identities based on the culture, lifestyle and history of the area. The food trip also aims to show that there are many Filipino recipes from each region of the Philippines with each region having its own specialty that has to be recognized for the unique flavor it adds to the Filipino Cuisine.
