March 15, 2012 – Sooo Pinoy Food Tour Day 4 in Boracay – Previous Post : Tryst Poolside Bar.
After tasting the “Rema” inspired dishes at Tryst Bar, we moved to Cafe De Paris, an restaurant owned by Mr. Roger De Paris – a french Expat who decided to stay and live in the island.
Sinigang na Hipon
We met Chef Mirasol Masagnay, who generously shared that her secret ingredient to spice up her Sinigang na Hipon is surprisingly not a shrimp flavored seasoning but a cube of “knorr chicken broth”.
Bistek Tagalog
She also served Pinoys favorite “Bistek” – Pinoy normally cook Bistek using pork even though the word really originated from the dish “Beef Steak” but just the same, the meat is being marinated in kalamansi or vinegar, soy sauce, black pepper and lots of onions. Some prefers to have the meat fried after being marinated but some just simmers it with all the ingredients until the meat is tender.
